Abstract
Regional Health Research data in 2018 reported that the prevalence of heart disease sufferers in Indonesia was 1.5% or estimated at around 1,017,290 people. Factors that increase the occurrence of heart disease are age, gender, and a family history of heart disease. Other risk factors are smoking, hypertension, diabetes mellitus, obesity, and activity. Heart failure often recurs, thereby increasing the incidence of re-hospitalization. Preliminary study conducted at RSUD. R. A. A. Tjokronegoro, inpatients with heart failure in the period December 2023 to February 2024 were 73 patients, the incidence of hospitalization in patients with heart failure was 22 patients. To analyze the relationship between medication adherence factors and the incidence of re-hospitalization in regional hospitals. R. A. A. Tjokronegoro Purworejo. This research is a study descriptive analytical with a cross sectional approach. The samples taken were 30 heart failure patients using purposive sampling technique. Data analysis used univariate and bivariate analysis. Respondents who had moderate medication adherence did not experience re-hospitalization as many as 15 people (50%), while respondents who had a low level of compliance experienced re-hospitalization as many as 2 respondents (6.7%). The test results using chi square (X²) obtained a p value of 0.013 with (p < 0.05) and an X² value of 8.750a. There is a relationship between medication adherence factors and the incidence of re-hospitalization at RSUD R. A. A. Tjokronegoro Purworejo.
