Editorial Process

A manuscript will be reviewed for possible publication with the understanding that it is being submitted to Jurnal Samodra Ilmu Cendekia alone at that point in time and has not been published anywhere, simultaneously submitted, or already accepted for publication elsewhere. The journal expects authors to authorize one of them to correspond with the Journal for all matters related to the manuscript. All manuscripts received are duly acknowledged.

Editorial Review Stage

On submission, Managing Editor reviews all submitted manuscripts initially for suitability for formal review. Manuscripts with lack of novelty, insufficient originality, serious scientific or technical flaws, particularly high rate of similarity with prior publications (plagiarism) or lack of a significant message, are rejected before proceeding for formal peer-review. Manuscripts that are unlikely to be of interest to the Belitung Nursing Journal readers are also liable to be rejected at this stage itself. The editorial review only takes one or seven days.

Peer review stage

A manuscript found suitable for publication in JKSI is sent to Editorial board member(s) and he/she recommends one or two Expert Reviewers. If  he/she is not able to do that, the Managing Editor will select the reviewers. The journal follows a double-blind review process, wherein the reviewers and authors are unaware of each other's identity. The peer-review process takes four to six weeks.

Editorial Decision Stage

Every manuscript is assigned to Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor, based on the comments from the reviewers and editorial board members, to make a final decision on the manuscript. Editorial Board Members can only make an initial editorial decision to be sent to Editor-in-Chief or Managing Editor and further discuss until reaching the final decision.

The comments and suggestions (acceptance/ rejection/ amendments in manuscript) received from reviewers and editorial board members are conveyed to the corresponding author. If required, the author is requested to provide a point-by-point response to reviewers' comments and submit a revised version of the manuscript. This process is repeated until reviewers and editors are satisfied with the manuscript.

Copyediting stage

Manuscripts accepted for publication are copy edited for grammar, punctuation, print style, and format. A page proof in doc. format is sent to the corresponding author. In this stage, the copyeditor will ask you to complete the reference format and clarify or verify the sentence or paragraph that has been changed. The corresponding author is expected to return the corrected proofs within seven days. It may not be possible to incorporate corrections received after that period.

Proofreading & layout editing stage

The proofreader will send the final proof of the article in pdf format with a fixed journal layout. There is no significant change in this stage. Authors are only required to check their names and affiliations and writing format (typos, grammar, punctuation, and layout format). The corresponding author is expected to return the final proof within five days.

Published Online

To achieve faster and greater dissemination of knowledge and information, the journal publishes articles online as 'Early View' immediately after proofreading. Next, it will be included in the upcoming issue.
